Cities Called to Integration

The model of ancient Greek city states tends to be relevant in the modern world. The experts taking part in the discussion titled The Management of a Future City held in Moscow under the auspices of The Economist Magazine pointed out that it is large cities rather than countries which are a unit of measurement in the worldwide economy and geopolitics.

A new area in Lakhta – a large scale project of the construction of a modern business area in the north-west of Saint Petersburg.

The project builds upon a balanced approach to the creation of an urban environment combining modern architecture, innovative engineering solutions and a considerate attitude towards nature. A modern mini-city with the headquarters of Gazprom neft and other Gazprom group companies in the center will be built outside the urban area in Primorsky district of Saint Petersburg, at the exit from the city between the Gulf of Finland and Primorskoye highway.

The implementation of the project will enable to create a new point of increasing business activities and lessen the burden on the historic center. The project will provide an opportunity for the city to compete with other large cities worldwide for financial and human resources, create new jobs and attract additional investments into the city.
