Renaissance Construction entered into a contract for the construction of the foundation of one of Lakhta Center buildings

Renaissance Construction CJSC entered into a contract for the construction of the foundation of a building in Lakhta Center Complex with “Social and Business Center Okhta” CJSC (the client of the construction), according to Director General of Renaissance Construction CJSC Mr.Andrew Vlasenko.

 

"We have entered into a contract for the construction of the foundations of the mixed-use complex. In 2-5 days we will start the works at site”, he said adding that the main contract for turnkey build is not entered into yet.

A.Vlasenko said that under the contract the duration of the works related to the construction of the foundation was 7 months. He did not specify the contract price.

Lakhta Center Press Service advised “Interfax” that the contract referred to is the preliminary agreement for the works related to the construction of a slab raft foundation of the multifunctional building, one of the buildings as part of the complex.

The main general contract is not entered into yet. The current works are procured in separate work packages and carried out slightly ahead of the work program, according to Lakhta Center Press Service.

As advised previously, upon the results of the tender conducted by the client of construction, Renaissance Construction was defined a potential contractor. "It implies entering into a contract with them however for the time being we cannot say about entering into a contract as a fact taken place. In total three companies took part in the tender, they said in “Social and Business Center Okhta” CJSC Press Service.

In August 2012 “Social and Business Center Okhta” CJSC obtained a permit to build stage one of Lakhta Center public and business complex comprising a high-rise building and an adjoining stylobat part. The main building is 462m tall.

Lakhta Center is a mixed-use public and business complex which core will be the headquarters of Gazprom neft and its subsidiaries. Over half of the areas will be occupied by public functions including exhibition spaces, a scientific and educational complex, a center for amusing science for children, a planetarium, a health center. In addition a hotel, a multifunctional hall for congresses, conferences, theater performances, a cinema center and a sports center will be located here.

The total area of the buildings and facilities will be about 400,000 sq.m. The complex is planned to be commissioned by 2018.
